Centro Cultural: Teatro Miguel Angel Asturias
-Teatro Nacional Guatemala-
The civic center where this colossal theater was elevated in the old “Fort Of San Jose” built on the times of war and guerrilla in the country.
The theater, design by Guatemalan engineer and architect Efrain Recinos is an alluring rendition of Guatemalan art in all its grandeur.
The representation of the Jaguar (a very symbolic creature in Guatemalan history) seating on one of the side, the ingenious curves, fascinating elevations and colorful cultural murals make this a very innovating structure.
The architecture of the theater is very original in all its glory, creating a very “Mayan-Renaissance” type of style. Genuinely from the region and found nowhere else but in the country.
